Learn More about CBD

Find here more information about Hemp CBD to help you become more familiar with cannabinoids.

What is CBD?

CBD is the beneficial healing compound found in hemp plants which offers many advantages for your health.

Like any other plant, Cannabis contains a lot of different compounds. Cannabis has more than 400 compounds but 60 of them are specific to the cannabis plant. These specific compounds are called “cannabinoids” and CBD is one of them.

Also called cannabidiol, CBD is the key to a lot of medicinal and therapeutic benefits that the cannabis plant offers.

What is the difference between Cannabis and Hemp?

The difference between the two plants comes down to how the plant is grown and what it is utilized for :

  • Cannabis or Marijuana plant is used to describe a plant that is grown for its flowers. These flowers contain high amounts of THC, the cannabinoid known to be psychoactive. Products made from the Cannabis plant are regulated by state and federal agencies and can only be sold in licensed dispensaries in states that have passed medical marijuana laws.
  • Hemp is used when describing a plant that contains only trace amounts of THC. This plant is usually grown for industrial uses such as fiber for clothing, construction as well as oils and topicals. Products made from the Hemp plant are legal to sell, buy, consume and ship in 50 states as long as they contain less than 0.003% THC.

What are CBD topicals and how do they work?

Salves, cream, lotions oils and balms are all topicals.

When topicals are rubbed on the skin, CBD compounds are activated by binding to a network of receptors called CB2. These CB2 receptors are found throughout the body and are activated either by the body’s naturally-occurring endocannabinoids or by external cannabinoid compounds like CBD.

What symptoms do CBD infused products help with?

CBD has anti-oxidant, neuroprotective and neurogenic properties. Further evidence have shown that Hemp CBD extracts are safe even at higher doses.

Our products are used mainly for localized pain relief, muscle soreness, tension, and inflammation. As more evidence is discovered everyday, topicals show more and more potential therapeutic benefits, from itching to headaches and cramping. Our products have different benefits to offer depending on the ingredients used and for what ailments the formulas were designed for.

Will CBD get you high? Is cannabidiol psychoactive?

Unlike THC, the cannabinoid responsible for the high when consuming marijuana, CBD is not psychoactive and will not get you high. This is one of the most important quality of CBD from the medical and legal perspective.

While this makes Hemp Extracts a poor choice for recreational users, it gives the compound a significant advantage for medical research, since health professionals prefer researching compounds with minimal side effects.

It is non-psychoactive because it does not act on the same pathways as THC. It will give you a sense of well-being, but will not ‘get you high’.
